Possibility of Applying Data Mining in Health Insurance

Abstract

In this paper, a great range of possible applications of data mining, data warehousing and knowledge discovery is described. With the increase of costs and complexity of health insurance and healthcare, application of the following techniques and algorithms can help decision makers increase productivity, cut costs and lower the complexity of their daily processes. The application of data mining is described by using CRISP-DM methodology, while example of possible application is given for each type of data mining approach.
